Politics and Leadership are indispensable with each other. We do have different designs of politics as well as styles of leadership.  Here in the Philippines one of the most common term  that we hear during elections is this concept called “Trapo” or Traditional Politics that is defined  far related from the real concept of traditional whether in politics or in leadership.  It pertains to those politicians who use dirty, messy and disgusting methods to satisfy their greed for position and power. They are as filthy as a trapo or a piece of cloth use for cleaning. They pretend to be someone who is for the masses, camouflaging as someone who is patriotic in mind, pious in heart and family-centred in actions but the creepy part is that all of those were just mere illusions and his real intentions are anchored on his secret agendas.

Image, concept and character are fictitious.
Joke only and not to be taken seriously :)
This has been an untreatable sickness of the Filipino Masses for ages; decades have passed, different batches of politicians already ran but looking at our government at present, same old names, same old faces yet our complaints today are no different from what we have decades of years ago. Though we cannot really blame it all on them since this is the culture that we grew up to. We put into power those who are rich, popular, influential, having good background or coming from a well-known family hoping that their profile will take us out from misery despite of their real competencies in leadership and heart for service.
More than those false hopes, as legal voters, we should take into mind that the destiny of this country we love lies at the tip of our pen during elections. As long as there are some who are not  looking deeper  into the qualities of leaders and still relies the hopes of Philippines to those traditional politicians, this country will still be like a wandering ship in the middle of nowhere no matter how many years will pass. We are already in the era of millennium and everything that is going is on development, we Filipinos should step up to a more responsible voting and embrace the idea of a deserving elections👉JBA
